On the Campus in Piazzale Europa, the University of Trieste has installed an electric car charging station as part of the Interreg Italy Slovenia research project called MUSE. The infrastructure, which is powered by its own photovoltaic system, is made available to the employees of the University of Trieste. The initiative also has an experimental character and enables the acquisition of valuable information for research purposes in the development of monitoring and management systems for photovoltaic charging stations, which are integrated within intelligent electricity grids.
In 2021, to join the regionally directed project with an Italian partnership, 'Noemix by NeMo FVG - New Mobility in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the university signed an agreement.
