The Ordinary Fund (Fondo di Finanziamento Ordinario - FFO), represents the main income for public universities. In our university, the FFO has grown in 2022 and 2023, but the proportion of funding received by the University within the rest of the Italian university system has reduced. The increase is due, therefore, to the overall increase in resources distributed to the entire system. In our university, the FFO increase is essentially due to two factors: (1) the FFO ‘bonus quota’ increased and UniTS receieved a greater percentage of this share within the national university system. The bonus quota depends on research performance and on the evaluation of recruitment policies, (2) in 2023 a share of €3.6 million (0.9 million in 2022) was allocated to the extraordinary plan for the recruitment of technical and administrative staff.
