Research may lead to the registration of a patent or the start-up of an entrepreneurial initiative. The University also promotes what is termed ‘technological transfer’ financially. It bears the costs of maintaining patents and provides the capital for entrepreneurial initiatives arising from research. Entrepreneurial training and the dissemination of research results contribute to creating an environment favourable for the creation of local businesses and the development of ongoing companies. Such an environment favours the employment of young and highly qualified staff. The tables show what has been already been achieved in this area. The number of participants is an initial indicator of the success of the initiatives launched.
