Thanks to the conclusion of numerous agreements with associations and local authorities, the University of Trieste – which is supported by its various departments and by the work of the Knowledge Dissemination Office – is particularly active in organising cultural initiatives for the public, such as Trieste Next, Science Museum workshop, Ross Books Music Wine.
To these initiatives, UniTS is also proud to add the activities carried out through participation in regional calls for cultural activities.
In all the initiatives which come under the umbrella of social and cultural engagement, the University of Trieste is particularly attentive to the involvement of all the members of the university community: teaching and research staff, the student community, technical and administrative staff, research assistants and doctoral students

In 2024, the year of the centenary of its foundation, the University's commitment to public engagement was confirmed, with a diversification of the initiatives promoted. While continuing activities related to entertainment, health and the promotion of heritage, new projects are also emerging linked to public participation, dissemination of scientific research to the public and participatory democracy. In particular, there is a trend toward a more targeted range of initiatives, with the introduction of projects with high civic and social value.
