The training of staff is linked to the need for updates (to both regulations and technical-management) and to the improvement of the quality of services. The graphic shows data related to activities performed in this area according to different categories of staff. It is important that the training is tailored to the needs of each person and their role and involves a large proportion of human resources. In this regard, it is important to point out that a Teaching Learning Centre was set up in 2024 to coordinate activities aimed at training teaching staff and tutors across different disciplines. Since 2023, face-to-face training has been re-launched, but attendance of online courses is still high, particularly among external participants. This has led to a reduction in the resources used (lower costs of purchasing, external courses reaching more people, and absence of work transfers) and an increase in hours performed per capita and courses purchased. (26,992 hours of training for an average of 39.11 hours per capita and 290 courses).
Part of the training was shared with SISSA and the University of Udine. With regards the training of staff in the field of Health and Safety at work, which is a mandatory legal requirement for teaching, technical and administrative staff and students in the University, in 2024 there were lower costs substantially caused by the postponement of training and refresher courses for firefighting officers, which will be implemented in 2025 following the conclusion of a specific agreement with the national fire service. This cost will therefore appear in the 2025 budget. In the same way, various training interventions, with in-person and e-learning modes, have been carried out by internal staff, completely free of charge.
