Opinions of students, graduates and PhDs-ST80-81

  • Results of students' opinion polls

Several years ago, the University embarked on a self-assessment process with the aim of analysing its ability to respond to the needs of different stakeholders, first and foremost students. The level of student satisfaction is measured through the administration of specific online questionnaires aimed at monitoring the quality of the services provided by UniTS and at identifying appropriate corrective actions where problematic issues arise. With regard to the opinions of students, the graphs show that:
The level of satisfaction with educational activities remains essentially stable, with a 89% of students satisfied in the academic year 2023-204 (88% in the academic years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023).
During the academic year 2023-2024, the level of satisfaction with the overall experience at the university has definitely grown, compared to previous years (87% of satisfied students, compared to 79% two years ago).
Student satisfaction with exams remains essentially stable (88%).

With regard to the satisfaction of undergraduates and PhD students, the University makes use of the surveys conducted annually by the Almalaurea consortium. As can be seen, the data reveals a slightly lower satisfaction than the national average, both for undergraduates and PhD students. This gap remains more or less constant for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, while it is closing for PhD courses.
The questions asked by the Almalaurea consortium cover many aspects, including the student’s performance (for example, a student with low marks or a student who took a particularly long time to complete their studies might consider that, after all, enrolling in university was not the right choice for them). In this sense, the data is difficult to interpret.
The factors that determine the level of satisfaction at the end of a student's studies are: (i) the student’s expectation and/or (ii) the quality of the courses offered.
