Origin of foreign students

  • Students from abroad

The International Mobility Office helps students who would like to enrol for the University of Trieste and who obtained a qualification abroad.
The International Mobility Office provides assistance for foreign students with procedures for entering and staying in Italy and with course admission procedures; the Office also evaluates foreign students’ qualifications.
In order to regulate migration flows, each degree course establishes every year the maximum number of students asking for an entry visa who are allowed to come to Italy. These students also have to sit an Italian test, which is organised by the International Mobility Office and the different Departments.
There is not a limited number for people who live in countries in the EU or for people who have lived in Italy for some time, including refugees.
The diagram below shows the countries where foreign students at the University of Trieste come from, including students who come from developing countries.
