The graph shows the origin of University funds (coming from local, regional, national and European institutions, as well as private individuals) divided into funds used to cover costs and to make investments. The increase in the total value of funds compared to 2022 is attributable to the Ordinary Fund (FFO), which is also the main source of funding for universities in Italy. The FFO is awarded to universities on the basis of performance evaluation in teaching and research activities, but also considers other objectives, such as the level of internationalisation.
