Students of Medical Schools-CT25

Medical school specialisation students also provide services with National Health Service Units. The specialisation students have specialist training contracts and for the University are post-graduate students. Indeed, admission to the medical specialisation school requires a degree, any necessary certifications and success in a public selection process.

Training for starting a new business-CT09-10

Research may lead to the registration of a patent or the start-up of an entrepreneurial initiative. The University also promotes what is termed ‘technological transfer’ financially. It bears the costs of maintaining patents and provides the capital for entrepreneurial initiatives arising from research. Entrepreneurial training and the dissemination of research results contribute to creating an environment favourable for the creation of local businesses and the development of ongoing companies. Such an environment favours the employment of young and highly qualified staff.

Historical archives, museums, collections and archeological excavations-CT29-30-32

0. The Kanizsa Archive can be accessed from the SmaTs webpage and contain the works of Gaetano Kanizsa. These are for the most part reproductions on cardboard of geometric images.  1. The regional Archive of Writers and Culture is open to the public for consultation for research purposes, for university teaching. Visitors may drop-in to the archive or make an appointment. The Archive preserves archival assets (23 census document collections), personal libraries (8495 catalogued units) and artistic assets (475 units).

Initiatives for cultural promotion-CT35-50-51

Thanks to the many agreements and conventions signed with associations and local authorities, the University of Trieste - which can count on the commitment of the various Departments and the work of the Scientific Dissemination Support Office - is particularly active in the production of cultural initiatives aimed at citizens. (Trieste Next, Researchers' Night, Laboratorio dell'Immaginario Scientifico, Rose Libri Musica, Vino)
In addition, there are activities realised thanks to participation in regional calls for cultural activities.

Publications by type at University level-RU60

Regarding university publications, which include various typologies such as articles in journals, monographies, conference proceedings, etc., it is useful to distinguish between open and closed access. Open access is a principle that has developed in academia with the aim of exploiting the potential of digital technologies and the Internet in order to disseminate and share research results without any restrictions.

National examinations to access regulated professions-CT15

Professional qualifications are obtained through nationally recognised exams. The university organises this type of exam and provides support to the commissions both by appointing some of the commissioners from among its teaching staff and by providing the necessary infrastructure. This activity is used to select qualified professionals in various fields (dentists, engineers and architects, psychologists, accountants, physicians, pharmacists...). In recent years, the number of graduates who have chosen to take their professional qualification exam at our university has fallen.
